The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Prenatal Special Care and Adult Surgery Inpatient Unit team. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive evidenced-based care to meet the needs of individuals, families, and/or communities. Your expertise will be invaluable in caring for high-risk antenatal and post-operative Adult Surgery patients, including those with breast health and gynecology needs.

As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for nursing assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient/family care. You will work collaboratively with patients and families, other nurses, and health team members to provide comprehensive care. Your leadership skills will be essential in building a strong inter-professional team and ensuring quality patient/family care.

Your Qualifications
  • Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing required
  • Licensed or eligible for licensure by the Nova Scotia College of Nursing required
  • Current successful completion of CPR Level-C Healthcare Provider within the last 12 months required
  • Experience in Obstetrical Nursing preferred
  • Recent nursing experience in medical-surgical acute care preferred
  • Successful candidates are expected to cross-train to all populations within six months of hire
  • Experience with grief counseling and caring for families with perinatal loss preferred
  • Current successful completion of NRP required within the first three months of hire
  • Family Centered care experience with perinatal populations an asset
  • Competency in other languages considered an asset
