Utilization Clinician

About the Role

Vancouver Coastal Health is seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to fill the position of Utilization Clinician. This role will play a crucial part in improving patient flow and reducing barriers to care within our healthcare system.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with staff and leadership to identify and address site-specific barriers to patient flow.
• Develop and implement solutions to alleviate these barriers, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient care experience.
• Work in partnership with site leadership to ensure accurate and reliable Alternate Levels of Care (ALC) data, driving informed decision-making and system efficiency.
• Act as a resource to staff, providing guidance on professional practice issues related to interprofessional care planning, problem-solving, and workflow.

Requirements

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
• Four (4) years' recent, related experience in an acute/community care environment.
• One (1) year's experience in a leadership role, including experience working with patient flow and systems analysis, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
