Job Title: Health Information Management Coder

We are seeking a highly skilled Health Information Management Coder to join our team at Réseau de santé Vitalité (employés sans congé maladies). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of health information.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assign classification and metadata codes to health records
  • Abstract, assemble and analyze clinical data and demographic information from health records
  • Classify and code diseases according to established classification systems
  • Collect, code, cross-reference and store health records and related information
  • Operate information systems to maintain indexes for classification systems and manage health records information
  • Prepare medical, social and administrative statistics
  • Compile statistics and reports on activities within records management services
  • Label, prepare and transfer information files according to established records management life-cycle procedures and schedules
  • Operate information retrieval systems to research and extract records
Requirements:
  • Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) Certification
  • Computer assisted records management system
  • MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Word, MS Windows
  • Criminal record check
  • Attention to detail, accurate, dependable, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, judgement, organized, team player
