About the Role

Our client is seeking a highly motivated Mechanical EIT/Project lead or Licensed Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Calgary, Alberta. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading firm across Canada with a well-established presence and a strong portfolio of work across a variety of sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Analyze client design proposals and specifications to determine cost-effective solutions.
  2. Provide guidance to clients, technical staff, and sub-consultants to ensure projects are technically sound and completed successfully.
  3. Coordinate with other disciplines internally as well as externally with consultants and architects.
  4. Ensure professional quality services in all facets of work.
  5. Provide quality and cost control during the design and construction process.
  6. Work with the project team to ensure technical accuracy of project deliverables.
  7. Manage project activities throughout the lifecycle, including the allocation of adequate resources, documentation, and other factors necessary for success.
  8. Prepare and review specifications and concept reports.
  9. Maintain project schedules and project cost summaries to track work progress, budget status, and manpower resource utilization.
  10. Identify and address the need for additional services and fees to clients in a timely fashion.
  11. Work with the field review team during the construction phase and ensure ASHRAE compliance and LEED where applicable.
  12. Keep apprised of industry and technical trends, codes, and standards.
  13. Contribute to the design of HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection systems.
  14. Coordinate and be responsible for mechanical engineering designs, drawings, and specifications.
  15. Collaborate with Architects and project teams to ensure design requirements are met and to solve design problems and technical issues.
  16. Nurture and maintain strong client relationships in and for the execution of projects.
  17. Support specific proposal and project efforts.
  18. Conduct peer reviews of engineering calculations, drawings, and specifications within the mechanical team.
  19. Assist in preparing detailed engineering design calculations.
  20. Assist junior staff.
