Job Title: Financial Processing Specialist

At The University of British Columbia, we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Processing Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing advanced financial processing, administrative, and clerical support to various departments across our campuses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide financial processing support, including data entry, reconciliations, and account maintenance.
  • Assist with financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Support the preparation and processing of financial transactions, including invoices, payments, and journal entries.
  • Collaborate with departmental staff to resolve financial discrepancies and ensure accurate financial records.
  • Develop and maintain financial spreadsheets, reports, and other financial tools.
Requirements:
  • High school graduation, plus one year of related post-secondary education and one year of related experience.
  • Equivalent combination of education and related experience.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work accurately and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • University undergraduate degree in a related field or two-year post-secondary diploma in accounting.
  • Three plus years of recent finance experience in a professional office environment.
  • Knowledge of GST/HST/PST Tax laws.
