Production Manager

Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Production Supervisor to oversee the daily activities of production workers and ensure that production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise Production Operations: Oversee the daily activities of production workers, ensuring that production targets are met. Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Quality Control, Maintenance) to ensure smooth production flow. Monitor production processes and make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
- Team Management: Train, mentor, and supervise production staff, including operators and line workers. Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to employees. Manage workforce scheduling, including shifts and overtime, to meet production demands.
- Quality Control: Ensure that all products meet the company's quality standards and specifications. Implement and monitor quality control procedures on the production line. Address any quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Safety and Compliance: Promote a culture of safety on the production floor by enforcing safety protocols and conducting safety training. Ensure compliance with food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and company policies. Investigate and report any incidents or accidents, and take steps to prevent recurrence.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance productivity and efficiency. Participate in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and other continuous improvement programs. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on production performance to management.
- Inventory and Materials Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, packaging, and other supplies. Coordinate with the purchasing department to ensure timely availability of materials. Minimize waste and optimize the use of resources.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including output, downtime, and quality issues. Prepare and submit regular reports on production performance to management. Ensure that all documentation related to production and quality is up-to-date and properly filed.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or a related field (preferred); or equivalent work experience.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food processing industry.
- Skills:
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations (e.g., HACCP, GMP) and quality control procedures.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Proficiency in using production management software and tools.
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
