The Product Development Lead is a pivotal role at Freshstone Brands Inc., where innovation and quality converge. As a key member of the Product Development team, you will play a critical part in shaping our product offerings, driving business objectives, and ensuring exceptional customer experiences.

Job Description
  • We are seeking an experienced Product Development Lead to join our team. This individual will be responsible for leading the development of new products, improving existing product lines, and managing the Test Kitchen.
  • You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Sales & Marketing, to deliver on emerging consumer trends and preferences.
  • The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of formula scaling, plant trials, and first productions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Food Science or Food Technology or higher
  • Culinary diploma, culinary education, or commercial kitchen experience is an asset
  • 3-5 years of product development experience, preferably in consumer packaged or food service packaged products
  • 3-5 years of work experience in food manufacturing

Key Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of food microbiology and demonstrated cooking ability
  • Working knowledge with Genesis nutritional database
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) skills
  • Experience with S.O.P. generation and high level of attention to detail
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and strong team-player with perpetual curiosity

Work Environment:

  • Office environment combined with kitchen areas, both air-conditioned
  • Occasional local travel and possible air travel to Canada/US
  • Somewhat moderate lifting up to 35 lbs

Estimated Salary Range: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
