Landscaping Foreman

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Landscaping Foreman to join our team at Black Tar Construction. As a key member of our outdoor operations team, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and maintenance of our landscaping projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Direct the planting of trees, gardens, and lawns, ensuring high-quality results and adherence to project timelines.
- Hire, supervise, and schedule staff to ensure efficient project execution.
- Organize and direct the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscape features.
- Plan and estimate labor and materials for projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness and quality.
- Resolve work problems by providing technical advice and recommending measures to improve productivity and product quality.
- Supervise nursery and greenhouse workers, ensuring they meet project requirements and deadlines.
- Manage and maintain work records and logs, including equipment maintenance and repair.
- Tender and administer contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Read blueprints and drawings, understanding project requirements and specifications.
- Repair and maintain equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
- Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies, ensuring timely delivery and quality.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in landscaping or a related field.
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding environment, with regular bending, crouching, and kneeling.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to supervise a team of 5-10 people.
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and drawings, as well as repair and maintain equipment.
This is a physically demanding role, requiring regular work outdoors in various weather conditions. The successful candidate must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
