Solar Technician Job Description

Spark Power is seeking a skilled Solar Technician to maintain and service utility-scale solar and battery storage facilities in the Southern Alberta region.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine safety documentation and follow all Health and Safety policies to maintain a zero-incident workplace
  • Complete technical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance activities to maximize performance and production
  • Energize and de-energize procedures, follow LOTO plans, and interpret schematics and blueprints
  • Conduct quality assurance checklists and inspections to document deficiencies and identify corrective actions
  • Follow OEM-specific maintenance requirements and company standards
  • Document all work performed and participate in on-call weekend services on a rotating schedule
  • Identify and provide feedback on issues and ongoing development of projects
  • Work in a team-based environment and independently as necessary
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Post-secondary education with an electrical or mechanical base is an asset
  • State certified Journeyman license is an asset
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) is an asset
  • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record
  • Ability to lift 75lb
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to learn
  • Digital literacy and proficiency with mobile apps and software
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude and experience
  • Attention to detail and ability to work with a team mentality
