Solar Operations and Maintenance Technician

SkyFire Energy is a leading provider of solar energy solutions, and we are seeking an experienced Solar Operations and Maintenance Technician to join our team.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated individual to perform routine maintenance and repairs on our utility-scale solar equipment. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance, a valid Red-Seal Journeyperson Certificate, and experience with medium and high voltage electrical work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on solar equipment, including inverters, racking, transformers, and switchgear.
  • Assess and troubleshoot equipment software and component failures.
  • Commission new solar equipment and projects.
  • Document and report daily tasks using internal software applications.
  • Liaise with customers, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Red-Seal Journeyperson Certificate required.
  • Experience with medium and high voltage electrical work.
  • Strong electrical understanding and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work safely in a high potential utility environment.
  • Availability to work regularly out of town on projects for durations of 2 days to 2+ weeks.
