Job Summary

We're seeking an experienced professional to serve as the primary technical correspondent and Engineering representative for production contracts and sales opportunities. This role will involve coordinating with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure all technical specifications are addressed prior to bid submission.

About You

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • Technical training or an equivalent combination of education, skills, and experience;
  • Knowledge of Engineering Design and Project Management;
  • Knowledge of Bills of Materials;
  • Knowledge of the manufacturing industry;
  • Experience with enterprise database software and engineering product lifecycle management systems (considered an asset);
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills;
  • Ability to understand and communicate engineering concepts;
  • Advanced critical thinking and problem-solving ability;
  • Strong attention to detail.
About the Role

This is a dynamic role that requires strong organizational and communication skills. As a Heavy Duty Transit Bus Engineer Coordinator, you'll be responsible for:

  • Serving as the primary technical correspondent and Engineering representative for production contracts and sales opportunities;
  • Supporting bids process from initial proposals through production, including change requests and configuration audits;
  • Identifying, defining, and managing technical configuration requirements and clearly communicating details to customers and internal stakeholders;
  • Identifying technical risks and opportunities and developing strategies to mitigate risks and action opportunities;
  • Releasing initial Bill of Material (iBoMs) needed to build heavy duty transit buses and coaches for a wide range of customer specifications;
  • Providing BoM status reports to Management;
  • Effectively managing and presenting project documentation;
  • Assigning tasks to Engineering designers to complete contract-specific design work;
  • Actively contributing or leading cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Mentoring and training new employees;
  • Serving as checker for Engineering change orders (ECOs) prior to release.
