Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate property (commercial and residential) and casualty claims through thorough investigation and negotiation of settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
  • Maintain adequate production levels and customer relationships.
  • Conduct interviews with claimants and witnesses.
  • Obtain and review official documents.
  • Compare claims information with evidence to determine liability.
  • Negotiate offers with claimants and issue cheques.
  • Dispose of salvage and pursue subrogation.
  • Accurately record, report, and present files, including evidence at legal proceedings.
  • Manage billing, time, and expense records.
  • Collaborate with managers to maintain client relationships.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims handling in an insurance environment.
  • Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is an asset.
  • Licensed and/or CIP designation.
  • Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims.
  • Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
  • Computer and reporting skills, including Office 365.
  • Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a team player attitude.
  • Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth.
