Position Summary
We are seeking a skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team in Prince Edward Island, Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate property (commercial and residential) and casualty claims through thorough investigation and negotiation of settlements in accordance with provincial licensing requirements.
- Maintain adequate production levels and customer relationships.
- Conduct interviews with claimants and witnesses.
- Obtain and review official documents.
- Compare claims information with evidence to determine liability.
- Negotiate offers with claimants and issue cheques.
- Dispose of salvage and pursue subrogation.
- Accurately record, report, and present files, including evidence at legal proceedings.
- Manage billing, time, and expense records.
- Collaborate with managers to maintain client relationships.
Requirements
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in claims handling in an insurance environment.
- Post-secondary education in an insurance-related field is an asset.
- Licensed and/or CIP designation.
- Experience in road adjusting, including investigation and detailed reporting of property and casualty claims.
- Working knowledge of Xactimate and XactAnalysis.
- Computer and reporting skills, including Office 365.
- Bilingual in French is considered an asset.
- Excellent customer service skills and a team player attitude.
- Willingness to work in a dynamic environment with opportunities for career growth.
