Job Description

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement application architectures that meet Government of Ontario IT Standards (GOITS) and Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies.
  • Define the structure and relationships among applications, including reusable components, quality metrics, and software organization.
  • Design and develop cross-platform applications in large and distributed environments, monitoring system interactions and defining limitations and requirements for source code.
  • Define interactions between application packages, databases, and middleware systems.

Requirements:

  • Ability to support and conduct options analysis according to OPS directives and Government of Ontario IT Standards (GOITS).
  • Experience in decomposing and composing requirements to develop solution options using a composable and modular architecture approach.
  • Assess and analyze business strategy, business requirements, current state environment, and technology choices to evaluate solution alternatives.
  • Conduct cost and benefit analyses and feasibility studies, create briefing notes, and provide recommendations.
  • Provide expertise and leadership in IT architecture in domains such as business technology, applications, security, and information, including enterprise architecture frameworks, strategies, and methodologies.
  • Creates architecture for various solutions across the Land and Resources Sector, ensuring alignment with LRC Technology Roadmap Practices and taking an enterprise approach.
  • Knowledge of industry standards and new trends, including cloud computing, microservices architecture, low code/no code, cybersecurity, and emerging technology, to provide state-of-the-art advice in systems analysis and design.

Desirable Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
  • Proven ability and experience modeling current and future state architectures.
  • Experience developing enterprise architecture deliverables based on Ontario Government Enterprise Architecture methodologies, processes, and practices.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies, and practices.
  • Experience designing detailed functional and technical requirements for new and existing business solutions.
  • Experience leading multitier application infrastructure design, documentation, and configuration for medium or large corporate implementations.
  • Experience designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining large complex applications, workflow processes, and dynamic forms.
