About the Role

The Ontario Region Claims Team at Gallagher is seeking a skilled Commercial Claims Specialist to provide exceptional claims service and advocacy to our clients. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with the Director of Commercial Claims to deliver outstanding results and maintain the high standards of the Gallagher Claims division.

Key Responsibilities

  • Intake and reporting of new commercial claims to insurance companies
  • Providing claims counselling to insureds in a professional and compassionate manner
  • Advocating on claims as needed on behalf of clients with insurers
  • Data input using the EPIC Broker Management System
  • Maintaining, coordinating, and updating client documents
  • Leading claim analysis meetings with commercial clients and/or the Client Solutions Team
  • Collaborating with the Client Solutions Team, adjusters, and insureds regarding open claims
  • Liaising between insureds and insurance carriers during settlement negotiations
  • Documenting and acting on incoming communication in a timely fashion

Requirements

  • Claims adjusting experience or commercial broker background with claims advocacy
  • Complex claims handling experience
  • RIBO, CAIB, CIP designations an asset or courses completed towards designations
  • Commercial insurance knowledge and experience required
  • Comprehensive and effective verbal/written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to multi-task between various tasks, projects, and deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products
  • RIBO License required to be attained within 6 months of starting this role
  • Experience with EPIC and/or an electronic filing system an asset
