Job Title: Hematologist

We are seeking a skilled Hematologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and treating blood disorders, conducting medical research, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat blood disorders, including anemia, bleeding disorders, and blood cancers
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods
  • Prescribe medication and treatment plans for patients
  • Refer patients for surgery and other medical procedures
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause, and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Act as consultants to other physicians and healthcare professionals
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Completion of a residency program in hematology or a related field
  • Board certification in hematology or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in hematology or a related field
Work Environment:

The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and will be required to work under pressure. The candidate must be able to stand for extended periods, walk, and perform other physical tasks as required.
