Job Title: Hematologist

We are seeking a skilled Hematologist to join our team at The Hospital for Sick Children. As a Hematologist, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancers in children and adults.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose and treat blood disorders and cancers in children and adults
  • Conduct medical research on human disorders, illnesses, preventive or curative methods
  • Prescribe medication and treatment
  • Refer patients for surgery
  • Prepare research papers for publication and presentation
  • Study the nature, cause and development of diseases and the structural and functional changes caused by diseases
  • Act as consultants to other physicians
  • Order laboratory tests, X-rays and other diagnostic procedures
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Completion of a Hematology fellowship program
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Specialization in clinical medicine
  • Experience in a hospital setting
