Purchasing Manager Job Description

At Waterloo Vapes, we are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team. As a key member of our procurement department, you will be responsible for planning and controlling budgets, hiring and training staff, and developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures
  • Hire, train, direct and motivate staff
  • Plan, develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
  • Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services
  • Authorize the development of specifications for products or services
  • Review and process claims against suppliers
  • Advise senior management
  • Assign, co-ordinate and review projects and programs
  • Plan, organize, direct, control and evaluate daily operations

Requirements
  • 5-10 years of experience in purchasing or a related field
  • Excellent oral communication and judgement skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and under pressure
  • Strong organizational and team player skills
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and MS Office
