Job Overview

The Student's Society of McGill University (SSMU) is seeking highly skilled and motivated individuals to fill the position of Barista. As a Barista, you will be responsible for creating exceptional customer experiences by providing top-notch beverage services and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Create and serve specialty coffee drinks, tea, and other beverages to meet the high standards of our customers
  • Prepare and serve food items, such as sandwiches, muffins, and cookies, in accordance with company standards and food safety regulations
  • Handle cash and card transactions accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale system
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to health and safety protocols
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience as a barista, with expertise in espresso machine operation and steaming milk
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • A strong knowledge of the McGill community and the SSMU, with a passion for promoting the organization's mission and values
  • A fitness level that allows for heavy lifting, moving up and downstairs, and standing for extended periods
