Job Overview

L3Harris Technologies, a leading aerospace and defense technology innovator, seeks an experienced Aircraft Systems Maintenance Specialist to join our team. This role is part of our In-Service Support (ISS) of the Canadian CF-18 (Hornet) Fighter aircraft Program.

About the Role

We are looking for a skilled individual to perform modifications, inspections, and repairs on the propulsion systems and associated components as well as the mechanical systems of the CF-18 aircraft.

Essential Functions

  • Document non-conformities according to established procedures;
  • Draft and complete inspection reports and Work Orders accurately;
  • Maintain a high standard of workmanship and discipline as detailed in Canadian Forces Technical Orders;
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections/repairs and report results to Supervisor;
  • Perform engine tests and secondary ground feeding tests;
  • Verify, adjust, repair or replace devices and equipment of a complex nature such as: Powertrain and related systems; Cell/motor Interface; Auxiliary panel and secondary feeding; Air conditioning system; Fuel System; Borescope Inspection; Mass and center Inspection.
  • Act as a team member, providing assistance to other crew members as required;
  • Observe and adhere to all safety regulations in the performance of duties, ensuring absolute compliance of safety policies and procedures;

Requirements

  • Graduated from a TCCA recognized AME Basic Training program focused on "M" Rating;
  • Completed RCAF AVN with an aircraft on-type training, preferably with experience on aircraft engine, fuel and environmental control systems;
  • Very good knowledge of CF-18 Technical Orders;
  • Able to work independently, with minimal direction or as part of a team;
  • Ability to present ideas/solutions to peers, technical staff, customers and supervisors;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems;
  • Proven organizational ability;

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is between $80,000-$120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. L3Harris offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) matching, and paid time off.
