We are seeking an experienced Aerospace Avionics Systems Specialist to join our team.

Job Description:

This is a critical role that involves performing modifications, inspections, and repairs on avionic systems for the Canadian CF-18 Fighter aircraft.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in aircraft maintenance operations, with experience working on complex electrical and electronic systems.

  • Document non-conformities according to established procedures;
  • Draft and complete inspection reports and Work Orders accurately;
  • Conduct scheduled and unscheduled aircraft inspections/repairs and report results to Supervisor;
  • Participate in the preparation of aircraft maintenance tasks relating to electrical, avionics, and electronic systems;
  • Perform work on avionics systems and visual, functional, or operational audits of a complex nature on CF-18s;
  • Verify, adjust, repair, or replace devices and equipment of a complex nature;
  • Perform repair, overhaul, and modification work, determine the sequence of operations, and ensure the identification, routing, fixing, and connection of cables;
  • Make the connection to terminals and switch panels and replace defective equipment;
  • Conduct testing of electrical continuity and grounding of electrical and electronic circuits;
  • Act as a team member, providing assistance to other crew members as required;
  • Perform Daily inspections on AMSE equipment, ensuring serviceability;
  • Observe and adhere to all safety regulations in the performance of duties;
  • Maintain work area cleanliness and follow rules of tool control;
  • Assist in initiating technical and administrative reports as required;
Required Skills and Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A strong understanding of aircraft maintenance operations;
  • Experience working on complex electrical and electronic systems;
  • Knowledge of Canadian Forces Technical Orders;
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal direction, or as part of a team;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and able to adapt to new software systems;
  • Proven organizational ability;
  • Graduated from a TCCA recognized AME Basic Training program focused on 'E' Rating;
  • Completed RCAF AVS on-type training;
