About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Early Childhood Educator to join our team at Family and Children's Services Niagara. As a Program Assistant - Daycare, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and education to children aged 18 months to 12 years.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement Developmentally Appropriate Educational Programs: Assist in planning and implementing educational programs that support the physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development of children.
  • Provide Quality Care and Supervision: Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times, and provide individualized attention and support as needed.
  • Maintain a Safe and Nurturing Environment: Assist in maintaining a clean and organized environment that promotes learning and development.
  • Communicate Effectively: Communicate with children, parents, and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Participate in Staff Meetings and Training: Attend staff meetings and participate in training sessions to enhance professional practices and stay up-to-date on industry developments.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Diploma in Early Childhood Education or equivalent, and valid registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience working in a daycare setting.
  • Skills and Attributes: Knowledge of normal early childhood development, ability to relate to and support children and families, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
