We are seeking a skilled Drafting Technologist to join our team at FEENSTRA ARCHITECTURE INC. As a key member of our design team, you will be responsible for supervising other drafting personnel, training new staff, and developing design sketches.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in drafting and design, with experience in shop drawings, detailing drafting, and computer-aided design software such as Autodesk REVIT. You will also be responsible for preparing construction specifications, costs, and material estimates, as well as writing technical reports and specifications.

In addition to your technical skills, you will need to be an excellent communicator, able to work effectively with clients, engineers, and production specialists to establish product requirements. You will also need to be organized, a team player, and able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising other drafting personnel
  • Training new drafting personnel
  • Developing and preparing design sketches
  • Preparing construction specifications, costs, and material estimates
  • Preparing contracts and tenders
  • Writing technical reports
  • Writing specifications
  • Completing documentation packages and drawing sets
  • Examining drawings for conformity and errors
  • Consulting with client, engineers or production specialists to establish product requirements

Requirements include:

  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience
  • Or equivalent experience
