Lakeridge Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in the Paediatrics department. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the overall success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process to provide patient care and participate as a member of the healthcare team.
- Maintain competence and professionalism relevant to current practice, and maintain nursing records.
- Function as a member of a multidisciplinary team and perform other related duties as assigned.
- Participate in cross-training to NICU and demonstrate experience with Paediatric medical/surgical care.
Requirements:
- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (in good standing).
- Current BCLS certification.
- Current PALS certification preferred or commitment to be certified/recertified within 6 months of hire.
- Demonstrated experience with Paediatric medical/surgical care, including IV initiation and capillary blood collection, and proficiency with advanced oxygen delivery systems and NG/G-tubes.
- Knowledge of Paediatric pathophysiology, especially related to medically complex children and developmental needs of children age newborn-18 years old.
- B.Sc.N degree.
- Demonstrated effective organizational, problem-solving, and teaching skills.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Sound judgement, good observation, and patient assessment skills, tact, and empathy.
- Able to perform appropriately in emergency situations.
- Able to lift, turn, transfer patients manually and with mechanical aids.
- Able to assume a leadership/supervisory role.
- Demonstrated commitment to our core values of Inclusion, Compassion, Innovation, Teamwork, and Joy.
- Must have a satisfactory performance record.
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices, including staff, patient, and environmental safety, and participation in regular in-service education in this area.

- The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and the Ontario Nurses Association (RN Bargaining Unit Local 051).
- Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
