**Job Summary**

As a Small Account Manager with GFL Environmental, you will be responsible for managing existing accounts, focusing on retention while introducing new services to existing customers. You will also be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the commercial sector.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, assessing and managing their needs to drive business growth.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of commercial waste management products and pricing to effectively upsell and cross-sell to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
  • Provide customized quotes and credit terms to potential customers, preparing sales contracts in accordance with company guidelines.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure services are delivered within budget and meet customer needs.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss progress and explore opportunities for business improvement.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitor activities.
  • Drive revenue growth through service increases and new business development.
  • Support the sales team with data entry and other administrative tasks.

**Qualifications & Requirements:**

  • 1-3+ years of experience in direct business-to-business sales and new business development.
  • Proven track record of attracting, cultivating, and retaining accounts.
  • Post-secondary education in business or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong work ethic, self-motivation, and a proven ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional image and a positive team spirit.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and a strong sense of teamwork.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, time management, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficient use of customer database systems and CRM tools.
  • Experience in the waste management industry and proven outside sales skills are a definite asset.
