Job Opportunity: Northland School Division is seeking a dedicated and experienced educator to fill the role of Grade 8 Teacher at Gift Lake School.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the prescribed program of studies for each subject taught.
  • Plan and execute daily lessons based on short, medium, and long-range planning.
  • Provide regular and timely feedback to students and parents.
  • Support the revitalization of Cree language and culture, and infuse curriculum with Indigenous perspectives.
  • Engage with the school community to promote a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills and commit to collaborative decision-making.
  • Implement differentiated instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Must hold or qualify for Alberta teaching certification and a Teaching Quality Standard certificate.
  • Must hold a Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree.
  • Successful years of teaching experience in rural and/or Indigenous communities.
