Critical care specialists, also known as trauma surgeons, provide specialized surgical care to patients with traumatic injuries. They work in emergency settings and handle complex surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform emergency surgical procedures on trauma patients.
  • Assess and stabilize patients with life-threatening injuries.
  • Collaborate with emergency department staff to develop treatment plans.
  • Conduct postoperative care and follow-up assessments.
  • Engage in research and education related to trauma care.

Requirements
  • Medical degree (MD or DO) and completion of residency in surgery.
  • Board certification in general surgery and trauma surgery.
  • Strong decision-making and surgical skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in high-stakes environments.
Salary Range:$250,000 - $400,000 per year
