Job Summary

The Mechanical Project Coordinator will be responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and supporting technical workflow on assigned engineering, procurement, and construction projects related to the mechanical field. The successful candidate will report directly to the Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications are met.
  • Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones, and monitor progress against established timelines.
  • Assist in preparing contracts and negotiate revisions, changes, and additions to contractual agreements with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Assist in budget analysis, cost, and margin projections, estimate project changes, and impacts.
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality control programs.
  • Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate shop drawings, RFI's, and SI's.
  • Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
  • Trade and subcontractor coordination.
  • Coordinate with document control.
  • Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete the project.
  • Ensure the site is operating in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Education Requirements
  • A College Diploma in Construction or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering is required.
Work Experience Requirements
  • 1-3 years of experience in the construction industry is required.
  • Experience in drafting practices for mechanical building systems is an asset.
Skills, Abilities, and Other Requirements
  • Knowledge and understanding of Contract management, Construction scheduling, planning, and execution, Estimating, Established construction practices, procedures, and techniques, and Business operations processes.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in the following design software: Revit, AutoCad, QuickPen PipeDesigner 3D, and QuickPen DuctDesigner 3D.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to establish a strong working relationship with co-workers, vendors, and clients.
