Staff Nurse, Pediatric Care Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Medical Surgical Neurosciences Unit (MSNU) at IWK Health. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide holistic, comprehensive, and evidence-based care to children with complex medical needs.
Reporting to the Manager of the MSNU, you will work collaboratively with families, other nurses, and health team members to promote, maintain, or restore health, prevent illness, injury, and disability, or support a peaceful death. Your expertise in pediatric nursing, orthopaedic care, and neurosciences will be invaluable in providing high-quality care to our patients.
Your QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will require:
- Graduation from an accredited School of Nursing Program
- Licensure or eligibility for licensure by the College of Registered Nurses of Nova Scotia
- Minimum two years of pediatric nursing experience, with recent orthopaedic and neurosciences experience preferred
- Current successful completion of CPR Level C Health Care Provider within the last 12 months
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with families and other healthcare team members
- Demonstrated sound judgment and independent decision-making skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of Family Centre Care
- Demonstrated strong communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and colleagues
