Framing Team Lead Job Description

At Michaels, we're looking for a skilled and experienced Framing Team Lead to join our team. As a key member of our framing department, you will be responsible for leading a team of framers in creating custom framing solutions for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and Coach the Framing Team: Provide guidance and support to your team members to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to deliver high-quality custom framing solutions.
  • Drive Custom Framing Sales: Work with customers to understand their needs and preferences, and use your knowledge of framing products and techniques to create custom solutions that meet their expectations.
  • Assist Customers: Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers in creating a memorable framing solution for their art.
  • Manage Inventory and Operations: Oversee the inventory management process, including receiving and stocking framing materials, and ensure that the framing department is running efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure Compliance: Ensure that all framing work is completed in accordance with company standards and policies, and that all team members are aware of and comply with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in Performance Management: Participate in the performance management process for your team members, including providing feedback and coaching to help them improve their performance.
Requirements:
  • Previous Custom Framing Experience: A minimum of 2 years of experience in custom framing, preferably in a retail environment.
  • Leadership Experience: Proven leadership experience, including experience leading a team and managing inventory and operations.
  • Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, team members, and management.
  • Basic Computer Skills: Basic computer skills, including experience with inventory management software and other relevant systems.
Work Environment:

The Framing Team Lead will work in a fast-paced retail environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service and creating custom framing solutions for our customers. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team environment, and will be able to lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods of time.
