YWITT, a community-led non-profit organization based in Whitehorse, Yukon, is seeking an experienced Executive Director to lead our team in advancing equality in trades and technology careers.

About YWITT

Since its incorporation in 2000, YWITT has been working to advance equality in trades and technology careers through advocacy, education, and support. We work alongside community partners and run programs and initiatives, including experiential workshops, advocacy support, community-led research, and policy work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the organization to ensure YWITT meets its goals as a non-profit, facilitating equity and inclusion for women and gender diverse folks in the trades and technology sectors.
  • Generate revenue, manage YWITT's staff team, infrastructure, and programming.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with government, business, and industry employees, as well as elected officials, stakeholders, and rights holders.
  • Collaborate with other service organizations to ensure best practices, information sharing, and capacity building.
  • Project YWITT to the public as a non-profit that takes its territorial role seriously, acts with integrity, and operates under the highest professional standards.
  • Maintain accountability with the Board through meeting reporting requirements, attendance at monthly Board meetings, and attendance at governance training meetings.
Requirements
  • Experience in a leadership position requiring advanced visionary thinking, strategic planning, and partnership building skills.
  • Experience operating a business, non-profit, or social enterprise.
  • Demonstrated commitment to the community.
  • Policy governance understanding.
  • A Class 5 Driver's License is required.
