We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Learning Assistance Teacher to join our team at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School in School District #59 (Peace River South).
About the RoleThe successful candidate will possess a strong background in Inclusive Education and be able to adapt and modify curriculum to meet the needs of students. Experience teaching primary and intermediate/middle school/secondary students is essential, as well as strong literacy and numeracy skills.
Key Responsibilities- Teach Learning Assistance (.529 FTE) at Tumbler Ridge Secondary School
- Develop and implement individualized learning plans for students with academic, social, and emotional learning difficulties
- Work collaboratively with staff to develop and implement school improvement plans
- Utilize a variety of effective strategies and techniques to support student learning
- Participate in Professional Learning Communities and regular professional development
School District #59 (Peace River South) offers a collaborative and supportive work environment, with opportunities for professional growth and development. Benefits include relocation allowance, northern travel allowance, and remote and rural allowance.
Requirements- Valid BC Ministry of Education Teaching Certificate
- Experience adapting and modifying curriculum to meet student needs
