**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Director, Software Quality Engineering to lead our global software quality assurance engineering team and certification team. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the quality assurance processes within the global organization, ensuring that our software products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a comprehensive quality assurance strategy that aligns with the company's objectives.
- Lead and mentor a team of QA professionals, fostering a culture of quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee all aspects of QA including test planning, execution, and reporting.
- Ensure rigorous testing of software products to identify and resolve defects early in the development cycle.
- Implement and maintain QA metrics to monitor and improve the quality of software products.
- Champion Agile practices within the QA team and across the organization.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including development, product management, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of QA processes in the Agile workflow.
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, retrospectives) to enhance team efficiency and product quality.
- Drive initiatives to automate testing processes, increase test coverage, and reduce cycle times.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Communicate QA strategies, plans, and progress to senior management and stakeholders.
- Provide regular updates on product quality, risks, and mitigation strategies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree is an asset.
- ~10+ years of experience in software quality assurance, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- ~ Extensive experience with Agile methodologies.
- ~ Proven track record of successfully leading QA teams in a fast-paced, Agile environment.
- ~ Strong understanding of software development lifecycles, testing methodologies, and QA best practices.
- ~ Experience with automated testing tools and frameworks.
- ~ Certification in Agile (e.g., Scrum Master, Agile Coach) is an asset.
- ~ Knowledgeable in regulatory standards and its processes for certification such as; Wi-Fi, Zwave, Zigbee, Cellular, UL/ULc is an asset.
- ~ Basic knowledge of analog and digital hardware, microcontrollers, microprocessors, and DSP processors. Product knowledge relating to security system is an asset.
