Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Software Developer to join our Software Team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining PennyLane, an open-source framework for quantum machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum chemistry. Your duties will also include contributing to the development of a quantum cloud platform and building and designing software and services with PennyLane.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain PennyLane, an open-source framework for quantum machine learning, quantum computing, and quantum chemistry.
  2. Contribute to the development of a quantum cloud platform.
  3. Build and design software and services with PennyLane.
Requirements
  1. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field.
  2. Master's or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Math, or a related field preferred.
  3. Previous experience with software best practices, including continuous-integration pipelines, unit testing, and code review.
  4. Experience working with several programming languages, including Python and modern C++.
  5. Ability to understand and apply complex mathematical concepts.
  6. Ability to convert abstract descriptions of algorithms into efficient code implementations.
  7. Demonstrated education or training in quantum computing.
  8. Exposure to machine learning and deep learning.
  9. Software development skills, demonstrated via a public online portfolio.
  10. Self-motivated with a willingness to learn.
  11. Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
  12. High level of professionalism.
Preferred Qualifications
  1. Expertise in quantum computing, as demonstrated by extensive coursework, thesis, or peer-reviewed publications.
  2. Experience with web development (frontend or backend).
  3. Experience with numerical computation and high-performance computing.
  4. Experience with distributed machine-learning workloads.
