Job Title: Seeking: Committed Caregivers to Nurture Children

Job Description:

As an Alternative Caregiver with Kunuwanimano Child & Family Services, you will play a vital role in providing full-time, part-time (respite), or emergency care to our children and youth. You will be responsible for meeting the physical, biological, emotional, and psychological needs of the children and youth in your care, including nutrition, education, medical care, and a loving and nurturing home environment free of hazards and harm.



About the Role:



  • Provide care through either a Customary Care Agreement, Kinship Care Services, or as a Foster Parent
  • Be able to provide love, nurture, support, and stability for children for the time they are placed in your care

About You:



  • Education or experience in child and youth, psychology, sociology, behaviour, indigenous studies, or social work would be an asset
  • A willingness to learn how to meet the physical, biological, emotional, and psychological needs of children and youth
  • A passion for wanting to be a helper and make a difference in the lives of those in need
  • Ability to work with Kunuwanimano's dynamic team
  • Ability to be flexible in schedule to ensure a child and youth's needs are being met, and a commitment to this
  • Having a desire to love, accept, and parent any child or youth, with optimism, tolerance, patience, and consistency
  • A willingness to work collaboratively with our First Nations for the best interest of children and youth
  • An understanding of the importance of cultural practices and a willingness and commitment to ensuring children and youth get to exercise their traditions
  • Must be willing to complete all the required documentation needed by the ministry and the agency


Compensation Package:

Our compensation package includes a competitive salary ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Additionally, we offer training opportunities to support your success and a comprehensive benefits package.
