About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Public Health Laboratory Surveillance and Outbreak Coordinator to join our team at the BC Centre for Disease Control. As a key member of our Public Health Laboratory (PHL), you will play a vital role in developing and coordinating laboratory surveillance and outbreak detection, investigation, and management strategies across the province.

The successful candidate will work closely with Program and Team Leads to implement best practices for public health laboratory surveillance, assist the PHL Medical Director in developing policies and laboratory strategies, and collaborate with external partners to advance public health laboratory practices.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will require a Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Public Health, or a related field, along with a minimum three years of recent experience in information management, data analytics, or health research. Additionally, you should possess advanced analytical skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

You will also have knowledge of privacy and confidentiality policies, adherence to data protection measures, and experience effectively engaging with diverse groups of professionals and programs. A strong asset for consideration is your commitment to upholding the shared responsibility of creating lasting and meaningful reconciliation in Canada, as per TRC (2015) and BC's Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples Act (2019).

As a regular full-time employee of PHSA, you can expect a competitive salary range of $74,618 - $107,264 per year, which will be prorated accordingly for part-time roles.
