Lumentum Canada is a leading company in the field of optical communication, and we're looking for a talented Senior Embedded Application Developer to join our team.

About the Role

We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced developer to play a key role in the development of software for our next-generation optical communication products. As a Senior Embedded Application Developer, you will work closely with our multidisciplinary teams to define new product requirements, document and review requirements and designs, and develop and maintain embedded application software.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize product requirements.
  • Develop and maintain high-quality embedded application software.
  • Work closely with designers to document and review requirements and designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members.
  • Participate in code inspections and ensure adherence to coding standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ development.
  • Strong understanding of multi-threaded software design.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Experience with source code control (Git, Subversion).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with embedded Linux, FreeRTOS, VxWorks, or other embedded OS software development.
  • Knowledge of hardware devices such as ADCs/DACs/Clocks/UART.
  • Experience with interfacing to embedded devices via interfaces such as PCIe, I2C, SPI, dual port RAM, RS-232.
  • Cross compiling/remote debugging/JTAG debugging.
  • Ability to use a schematic to understand how electronic devices are connected.
