About this Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Imaging Technologist - Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. This is a long assignment full-time position, 75 hours biweekly, with approximately 12 months duration.

As a Cardiac Sonographer, you will use non-invasive cardiovascular technology equipment to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with heart and blood vessel conditions. You will work alongside physicians, using technology to help assess patients and their conditions.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, certified by Sonography Canada, and licensed by the Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP). Current BLS certification is also required.

Preferred qualifications include a minimum of one year clinical experience, preferably in a tertiary care setting. Experience in Adult Congenital Heart Disease, TEE, Dobutamine Stress Echo, Exercise Stress Echo, and Research Echo is also an asset.

You will be working with Philips IE 33, Epiq 7, and Xcelera Workstations, as well as General Electric Vivid E95. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

This is a shift work position, requiring evenings, nights, and weekends. In return for your hard work and dedication, you will receive a competitive hourly rate of $34.24-$39.96, plus eligibility for a Market Adjustment of approximately $.23 biweekly.
