Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

At Health Sciences Centre, we are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team. As a Licensed Practical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide professional practical nursing services to designated patients, including independent nursing services and administration of prescribed medical treatments.
  • Collaborate and interact with the healthcare team to coordinate patient care and discharge.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of patients.
  • Monitor and report patient progress, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with best practices and advancements in the field.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an approved Licensed Practical Nursing Education program.
  • Current certification in IV Therapy and IV Medication Administration.
  • Active registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba (CLPNM).
  • Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) training requirements.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Ability to prioritize care for individual patients or groups of patients, delegate tasks as needed, and monitor outcomes.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing situations and maintain concentration in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in the applicable clinical area.
  • Knowledge of College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Standards of Practice for Licensed Practical Nurses and College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Manitoba Code of Ethics for Licensed Practical Nurses.
  • Ability to work independently and as a member of the healthcare team, with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
