About the Role

As a Senior Underwriter or Underwriter with Liberty Mutual Canada, you will play a crucial role in underwriting and profitably growing a portfolio of property and casualty (P&C) business within the Ontario & Atlantic Region. You will be responsible for managing relationships with key broker partners and clients, providing valuable input into operational improvements, and contributing to the region's profitable growth in target lines of business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Underwriting: Manage a portfolio of new and renewal P&C business, adhering to underwriting guidelines and strategies.
  • Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with assigned brokers, clients, and prospects to ensure exceptional service and gather market intelligence.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including risk services, actuary, and claims, to achieve profitable growth through technical research and relationship building.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience underwriting commercial P&C insurance.
  • Post-secondary education with relevant insurance designation(s)/education considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively across business units.
