Job Summary:

Civil/Structural Engineer - Technical Lead

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team as a Technical Lead. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for leading technical designs, conducting calculations, drafting documents, and generating/reviewing engineering work in accordance with industry and company codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead technical designs for civil, structural, and foundation projects, including pipe support and grade designs, facility designs, and technical construction support.
  • Conduct calculations and generate/review engineering work, including structural design of equipment packages and steel structures, design and analysis of structures, and site grading conceptual design.
  • Provide civil and structural engineering design services for structures and foundations, including piping, platforms, roadway construction, and site drainage plans.
  • Design specialized foundations, including footing, thrust blocks, steel driven piles, screw piles, hydrovac piles, micropiles, concrete piles, and retaining structures.
  • Design and analysis of steel structures, including pipe rack modules, tank farm catwalks, equipment platforms, stairs & platforms, skid modules, and similar equipment.
  • Assist with the completion of various project deliverables, including engineering calculations, engineered drawings, specifications, and datasheets.
  • Liaison between engineering disciplines and managed third-party contractors.
  • Assist in development of cost estimates, project schedule, and scope of work packages.
  • Technical coordination with various disciplines, both internal and external.
  • Assist with business development proposals and studies as required.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering from an Accredited University.
  • Registered as Professional Engineer with APEGA (additional PE licencing considered an asset).
  • 5+ years' experience in a related field, with experience in Oil & Gas Pipeline Riser sites and Facilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • An excellent communicator and team player, able to work within a multi-disciplinary team environment with a positive attitude.
  • Detail-oriented, meticulous, and have strong organizational skills.
  • Willingness to learn and take additional responsibilities.
  • Quality and Safety oriented mindset.
