Salary and Benefits

This role offers a competitive salary range of CAD $42.27 - $52.81 / hour, plus a comprehensive benefits package, including four weeks of vacation to start, comprehensive health benefits, and a pension plan.

Responsibilities
  • Provides speech language assessment of the patient's communication, speech, and swallow functional abilities, needs, and goals.
  • Analyzes the patient's needs, establishes speech language and dysphagia diagnosis and prognosis, and develops an evidence-based intervention strategy.
  • Implements interventions in accordance with established treatment guidelines and educates patients and caregivers regarding self-management and health promotion.
  • Collaborates with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and optimize health outcomes.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Current registration with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, including applicable College certification(s).
  • A broad knowledge of speech language pathology theory and practice within a patient-centered model of care.
  • The ability to communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations.
