Job Overview
The Nursing Supervisor is a critical role in the Home Care program at Southern Health-Santé Sud. As a member of the leadership team, you will be responsible for providing professional nursing supervision to home care nurses and application team members.
About the Role
This position requires strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage resources, and make sound decisions. You will work collaboratively with other departments to ensure the delivery of high-quality client services.
Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing supervision to home care nurses and application team members
- Manage staff and resources to ensure efficient delivery of services
- Participate in the Home Care Leadership Team to develop and implement strategies for improving client services
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless delivery of services
- Exercise initiative and independent judgment in determining work priorities and action to be taken on unusual matters
- Function in a manner consistent with the mission, vision, and values of Southern Health-Santé Sud
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A university degree in Nursing or Diploma in Nursing along with five years professional nursing experience
- Current CRNM registration
- Health Services Management course or equivalent
- Knowledge of all aspects of home care systems and programs
- Knowledge of all relevant legislation and standards
- Demonstrated supervisory ability, including experience in employee and labour relations
- Demonstrated oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to function within the professional code of ethics, professional standards, and legislative requirements of the profession
- Demonstrated ability to use an analytical and inquiring approach to program development and problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with others in a multi-facility and program system
- Proficiency with Procura, MS Office suite of programs
- Demonstrated ability to respect confidentiality, including paper, electronic formats, and other mediums
- Ability to respect and promote a culturally diverse population
- Proficiency in both official languages (English and French)
- Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job
- Good work and attendance record

- A valid Class 5 driver's license
