Greenhouse Crew Chief

Driftwood Greenhouse is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Greenhouse Worker Crew Chief to join our team. As a key member of our greenhouse operations, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily activities of our greenhouse team, ensuring the efficient and effective production of high-quality plants.
Work EnvironmentOur greenhouse is located in a rural area, and you will be working in a fast-paced environment with a large workload. You will be required to handle heavy loads, work in hot and cold temperatures, and be physically demanding. You will also be responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee the daily activities of the greenhouse team, ensuring efficient and effective production of high-quality plants.
- Transplant seedlings or rooted cuttings, report signs of insect or disease damage, and assist in pruning trees, shrubs, and plants.
- Operate climate controls, mix and prepare soils, and apply fertilizers.
- Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, and write daily basic progress reports.
- Clean work area and maintain a safe and clean work environment.
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in greenhouse operations.
- Valid driver's license and own transportation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle heavy loads, and work in hot and cold temperatures.
- Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
The work environment is outdoors, with exposure to hot and cold temperatures. You will be required to wear steel-toed safety boots and gloves. You will also be required to work in a non-smoking environment.
