Job Title: Diagnostic Radiologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologist to join our team at Ottawa Hospital and Region Imaging Associates.

Job Summary:

The Diagnostic Radiologist will be responsible for interpreting medical images, conducting research, and supervising laboratory activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in medicine, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Interpret medical images, including X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs
  • Conduct research on human disorders, illnesses, and preventive or curative methods
  • Supervise laboratory activities, including ordering laboratory tests and X-rays
  • Teach university subjects and students through lectures, discussions, and laboratory sessions
  • Record and process patient data, including performing administrative tasks
  • Develop and interpret radiographic film
  • Deliver lectures and presentations on medical topics
  • Conduct literature reviews, surveys, and laboratory experiments for academic publications
  • Assess the extent of injuries or illnesses of trauma victims to determine emergency medical treatment
  • Interpret test results and diagnose patients' diseases and disorders
  • Perform routine, emergency, and post-mortem examinations
  • Operate X-ray, radiographic, and fluoroscopic equipment
  • Monitor patients and advise physicians of any changes in patients' condition
Requirements:
  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
  • Specialty residency training in diagnostic radiology
  • Licensure by provincial or territorial authorities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
