Job Title: Heat Treatment Specialist

Burloak Technologies Inc. is a leading provider of engineering services for additive manufacturing, materials development, high-precision CNC machining, and metrology. We work with innovative companies in the aerospace, automotive, and industrial markets to rapidly transition challenging part designs to additive manufacturing at scale.

We are seeking a full-time Heat Treatment Specialist to join our team in our state-of-the-art Oakville facility. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with a highly motivated team in an exciting environment using the latest machining technologies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of heat treatment process, including optimization of heat treatment for additive manufacturing, continuous improvement, and compliance to industry and customer standards.
  • Maintenance of scheduling, oversight, and performance, including calibration of thermal, vacuum, pressure, moisture, and chromatography sensors.
  • Lead/support Nadcap, QMS, and customer audits related to heat treatment.
  • Pyrometry review and daily thermal process reviews.
  • Maintenance and ordering of spare parts, tooling, and consumable inventories.
  • Project planning for production hardware, capital hardware, and installation.
  • Assist in employee hiring, supervision, and scheduling.
  • Training heat treatment staff to function within designed operational systems.
Requirements:
  • College degree or bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline and minimum 5 years of experience leading heat treatment operations.
  • Experience working with AS9100 or ISO9001 Quality Management Systems.
  • Experience with Nadcap special process audits.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements in the province of Ontario.
  • Ability to pass the Controlled Goods Act Screening.
Technical Skills:
  • Mechanical and electrical inclination/aptitude is an asset.
  • Possess reasonable understanding of thermal control systems, sensor types and functions, processing standards, PLC's and relay logic, pressure vessels and gas trains, air compressors and delivery systems, hydraulics, plumbing, and fabrication.
  • Strong communication skills and team player.
