Ground Handler Job Description

Are you ready to take off in your career and join the aviation industry? We're looking for a reliable and flexible individual to join our team as a Ground Handler at St. John's International Airport (YYT).

Responsibilities:
  • Ensure compliance with Transport Canada regulations and airline procedures
  • Operate ground service equipment and drive vehicles safely
  • Marshall and wing-walk aircraft to the gate
  • Sort, load, and offload baggage according to load plans
  • Deliver baggage to the claim area and unload it onto the conveyor system
  • Service aircraft water and lavatories
  • Inspect ramp areas for debris and remove/dispose of it when found
  • Groom aircraft, cleaning the cabin, galleys, and lavatories, and restocking lavatory supplies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Flexibility to work shift work, including early mornings, days, late evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to stand, lift, bend, crouch, kneel, and push/pull for extended periods
  • Physical ability to lift up to 70lbs/32kgs
  • Willingness to work outside in all types of weather
  • Ability to wear safety gear, including steel toe boots, reflective vests, and hearing protection
  • Meet all conditions of employment, including a Restricted Area pass issued by Transport Canada, a criminal background check, and a valid provincial driver's license with a clear driver abstract
