Job Summary

Halton Healthcare is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Extern Program Coordinator to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in supporting the development and execution of a comprehensive Clinical Extern Program.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Clinical Extern Program that aligns with college standards and policies.
  • Support the recruitment, onboarding, and competency evaluation of Clinical Externs.
  • Create and deliver education and training resources to support Clinical Externs in their practice.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to ensure seamless integration of Clinical Externs into care areas.
  • Provide on-unit support for Clinical Extern professional development and participate in competency evaluation and performance management.
  • Collaborate with the student clinical placement program to optimize health human resources.
Qualifications
  • Regulated Healthcare Professional in good standing with their Professional College.
  • Three years related healthcare experience.
  • Current certificate in Basic Life Support by the Heart and Stroke Foundation preferred.
  • Passion for mentorship, preceptorship, and adult learning principles with previous experience as a preceptor or Clinical Instructor for students preferred.
  • Strong relationship building skills and ability to collaborate across various levels of leadership.
  • Exceptionally patient and caregiver focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond positively to change, work independently, and lead continuous quality improvement initiatives.
