Job SummaryWe are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to provide technical support and coordinate technical work on developing, coordinating, implementing, and optimizing the Operational Services Department's program(s). The successful candidate will participate in the day-to-day planning of preventative maintenance programs and effectively implement industry best practices.
Responsibilities- Provide technical support and coordinate technical work on developing, coordinating, implementing, and optimizing the Operational Services Department's program(s).
- Participate in the day-to-day planning of preventative maintenance programs.
- Implement industry best practices in maintenance operations.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure effective system operations.
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and reports.
- Perform other related duties as required.
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology or related discipline.
- Certified membership in the Applied Science Technologists and Technicians of British Columbia.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers License.
- Sound experience in a municipal operations environment, emphasizing contract coordination, planned preventative maintenance, and effective system operations.
- GIS technology background (an asset).
- Thorough knowledge of construction and maintenance practices.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and report-writing skills.
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office, ArcGIS, and databases.
- Ability to work well as a member of a team and independently.
- Ability to oversee the work of others.
- Ability to interpret and apply City bylaws, policies, procedures, engineering design standards, and specifications.
- First Aid Emergency Level - Industry and CPR Level A Certification.
- Traffic Control training.
- WHMIS Certification.
- Other job-related safety training.
- Certification from the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA).
- Public Works Association membership.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on providing excellent customer service. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong emphasis on communication and collaboration.
