Caretaker Position

The Ottawa Catholic School Board is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Caretaker to join our team. As a Caretaker, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our schools, as well as performing daily routine security and safety checks.
Key Responsibilities:- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of school facilities, including classrooms, hallways, and common areas.
- Perform daily routine security and safety checks, including monitoring of school premises and equipment.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including maintenance and repairs of school facilities and equipment.
- Some secondary school education with the ability to read and write.
- One year of related work experience.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical systems.
- Knowledge of the Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) and its regulations.
- Ability to work independently and perform physically strenuous work.
- Own personal vehicle required.
Casual Caretakers work on-call and must be available days, evenings, or Saturdays at various school locations.
Compensation:Rate of $17.00/hour plus 4% in lieu of vacation. Effective October 1, 2024, the rate will be $20.70/hour.
