Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality patient care in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Department (ED).
- Deliver evidence-based nursing care to patients with varying levels of acuity, working collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams.
- Enhance patient outcomes by promoting a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
- Participate in education and research initiatives to advance nursing practice and patient care.
- Maintain and advance clinical competence through ongoing education and professional development.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote excellence in patient care.
About this Location/Unit:
The ICU consists of 3-beds, with responsibility for cardiac monitoring for a maximum of 3 telemetry patients. The department has recently received ceiling lifts for all three beds. Our staffing complement is one RN per 12-hour shift, with workload called in when needed. The Patient Care Coordinator and Shift Coordinators are also available to assist when needed.
The ED consists of 14 beds, including general treatment bays, six monitored beds, two trauma bays, a negative pressure room, and a secure room. The ED receives approximately 26,000 visits per year and offers state-of-the-art equipment, including a new Space Labs Cardiac Monitoring System and a Procedural Cart System.
